The Artists' Place was started in 2002 by my father, Don. He was an artist in his later years and taught art classes up and down the east coast. He also ran an art supply store in Tennessee and was approached by a customer for an English video by APV Films. From that initial contact he became APV's exclusive distributor for the NTSC format (US, Canada, Japan).
That was the start of this art instruction video business which is now an online only store. We also started distributing for the other major producer of art instruction films in the UK, Town House Films. These two UK producers film the most respected and highly awarded artists in the UK and Australia.
